What are the changes to the market data packages?

The current Real-Time Options, Advanced Canadian and Advanced US Market Data packages have been updated, renamed and lowered in price to provide more value to you.

The Real-Time Options package will be called Real-Time Streaming and the price will be lowered to CAD $9.95/month (effective March 1, 2025). This updated package will contain the following data (in addition to the data in the Free package):

  • NASDAQ Level 1
  • NYSE Level 1
  • AMEX Level 1
  • ARCA Level 1
  • OPRA Level 1
  • NEO Level 1

This is identical to the previous data provided except it will no longer contain MX Level 1 streaming data.

The current Advanced Canadian and Advanced US Streaming packages will be merged and renamed Advanced Streaming package and the price lowered to USD $44.95 (effective March 1, 2025).

The updated package will contain the following data (in addition to the data in the Real-Time Streaming package):

  • NASDAQ TotalView Level 2
  • OPRA Level 2
  • TSX Marketbook (formerly TSX Market by Price)
  • S&P Global Index data

Data no longer in the Advanced streaming package:

  • ATS level 1
  • NEO level 2
  • MX level 1 and level 2
  • OTC Pink level 1 and level 2
  • AMEX OpenBook level 2
  • NYSE level 2
  • Dow and Russell indices

What happens to the old market data packages?

The existing packages are being refreshed to include the data most widely used and made a significant reduction in the price of the packages.

Real-Time Options subscribers will now be subscribed to the Real-Time Streaming package.

Advanced Canadian Streaming subscribers and Advanced U.S. Streaming subscribers will now be subscribed to the Advanced Streaming package.

Do I need to do anything?

If you currently subscribe to a Questrade Market Data package, your plan will be refreshed on March 1. There is nothing more you need to do.

If you wish to cancel, you can do so easily by logging into Questrade on a web browser, going to Management and then Market data to cancel your plan or subscribe to a different plan. To avoid being charged for March, please ensure you cancel before March 1st.

What if I want data that is not in my refreshed plan?

Each of the refreshed market data packages has the option of purchasing additional market data as an add-on. Market Data add-ons can be selected by logging into Questrade on a web browser, going to Management and then Market data.

NOTE: From March 1 to April 30, following the introduction of the new Market Data packages, all add-on data will be free of charge.

Now that Questrade has commission-free trading, are there still rebates for market data packages?

No. Previously your commissions paid for the rebate on your Market Data package. Now that Questrade has $0 commissions, market data packages will no longer be rebated beginning March 1st (clients that incurred enough commissions in February are still eligible for a rebate). In recognition of this, we have updated the packages to include the data most widely used by Questrade clients and made significant reductions in the price of the packages.

What happens to my Active Trader pricing?

If you currently have Active Trader pricing as a result of purchasing a paid Market Data Package (e.g. $0.75/contract) then you will continue with this pricing going forward. There is nothing you need to do.

What if I am a professional subscriber?

The new market data packages are for non-professional subscribers only.  If you are a professional subscriber, you can purchase additional market data from this list at professional prices. Please contact Questrade customer service at (888) 783-7866 to subscribe.

If I am an authorized trader on someone else’s account, how does it work?

There is no change to how this works today. Market data packages are associated with the User ID that subscribed to it. If you are an authorized trader and subscribe to a market data package, you will still see paid data even when trading on another client’s account.
